GRANT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

To maintain an efficient and equitable review process, please submit the full application by 5pm on the due date for which funding is requested. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Keep in mind that the Foundation’s major grants are issued at a maximum of $5000 (as of Fall 2015) and minor grants are issued at a maximum of $1000 with no set minimum.

FUNDING ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for funding, the project must satisfy the requirements of the mission statement and the four guidelines listed on our home page. Please reference this for insight on what we look for in applicants.

Grant Process

INTERVIEWS: The board will review each application and determine if an interview should be granted. If so, an interview will be held at the convenience of the requesting entity and a few of our board members. The purpose of the interview is to find out more information to see if the proposal fits in our mission statement. The board members conducting the interview will report back to the board and a vote will be taken to determine if funding will be granted.

REIMBURSEMENTS: If granted funding, the requesting entity will make the purchases of the items for which funding was awarded, then will be reimbursed by CoVo Foundation. CoVo Foundation will require an expenditure report with an itemized budget including the exact costs for each item, as well as the original receipts. CoVo Foundation does not operate on a retroactive funding basis, so everything must be purchased after the grant approval from the board in order to be reimbursed. CoVo Foundation also requires the organization to submit a follow-up report regarding the spending of the money and the success of the event. After the expenditure and follow-up form are completed (can be sent at separate times), CoVo Foundation will reimburse the organization with the appropriate funds.

NOTE: If your organization has been awarded funds in the past, you must wait three full funding cycles to reapply to the Foundation (Ex: If you were granted funds in the Spring ’11, you are welcome to reapply in Fall ’12).
